How to motivate teenagers

27/6/2020 (Sat) 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Online Attendance Available
“My son is so unmotivated, he will budge only when I push, it’s so frustrating.”
It is every parent’s wish that their children are obedient and self-motivated. But once they step into puberty, they often become very individualistic. To them, their parents’ words would go in one ear and out the other. It can almost become back breaking for parents to succeed in persuading their children to strive forward positively.
If you can’t succeed with persuasion, what else can you do? What would be more effective in expressing your care to them? Perhaps “motivation” may be the answer. Motivated teenagers are intriguing, once they target a goal, they can be completely wrapped up in their pursue while losing the concept of night and day. Just look at them on their video games, once they have set their aim to outrun the programme, they will set out to search for all strategies to achieve their aim. This is how they can channel their energy once they are motivated.
So if the force of Motivation can be so powerful, how can we successfully motivate our teenagers? Before parents begin to motivate their teenagers, how can parents prepare themselves to ease their anxieties? What are the things that deserve to motivate and what are not? How can we differentiate the difference?
Our speaker Mr. Roger Yeung will share his experience and cases with us from his perspective as a secondary school teacher.  You are cordially invited to join us at our coming “Bowen Vision” for the discourse on the above topic.
